• Time: Exam starts promptly at 10:00 AM (please arrive by 9:30 AM; late arrivals will be accommodated)
• Location: Camp Bynden Wood, YMCA Camp, Reinholds, PA
  • Address: 201 Cushion Peak Road, Reinholds, PA 17569

• Directions: Follow the main road into the camp and look for signs directing you to the Reading Radio Club.
• Entry: No fee to enter the park. All attendees over 18 must present a government-issued ID (e.g., driver’s license) due to active youth programs at the camp.

Exam Information

• Type: In-person, open to all
• Cost:
  • $15 (cash or check payable to Reading Radio Club) for ages 18 and over
  • $5 (cash) for ages under 18

*FCC Registration Number (FRN): Required prior to exam registration

• To obtain an FRN:

1. Create a CORES account with the FCC.
2. Sign into your CORES account.
3. Select "Register New FRN" and follow the instructions.

• Registration Confirmation: You will receive an email, and a Volunteer Examiner will contact you to answer any questions.

What to Bring

• One government-issued photo ID or two forms of photo ID as specified on the ARRL webpage
• A few #2 pencils with erasers
• A pen (for signing FCC forms)
• A non-programmable calculator (if needed; cell phones are not permitted)
• An official copy of your Amateur Radio license (if applicable)

Prohibited Items (per YMCA Rules)

• Weapons or weapon replicas of any kind
• Tobacco or alcohol products
