Pre-registration required through hamstudy.org. Please do not park in the marked fire fighter spaces . Please arrive at least 15 minutes prior to your session.
Study the license class you want (Technician, General, Extra) using HamStudy’s practice tests, flashcards, etc. hamstudy.org
On exam day:
Bring required identification (e.g. a government-issued photo ID). For exams, you may also need to present your FRN. Follow the instructions of the examiners.
The test is multiple choice: Technician exam: 35 questions, you need 26 correct (74%) to pass. General: also 35 questions. Extra: 50 questions. When you pass, the Volunteer Examiners will issue a Certificate of Successful Completion of Examination (CSCE). They will forward your application to the FCC.
After the exam — license issuance Once your application is processed by the FCC, you’ll receive an email to pay the $35 FCC application fee (for new licenses or modifications). After payment, your license details (including your call sign) will appear in the FCC’s database. You can start transmitting legally once your license appears in the FCC database.
