Swaptoberfest 2026

Important information before registering for the exam. This is an In-Person Exam

Date & Time

Date: Saturday October 17th 2026 Time: 10:00 am *No new exams may be started after 11am

Registration:

Click the register button at the bottom of the page. Pre-registration is HIGHLY encouraged, walk-ins will only be accepted if there is enough space, time, and if they have their FRN or exising license infromation ready.

Prerequsisits:

Before registration, you MUST have an idividual FRN from the FCC for someone residing in the US. This can be obtained through the FCCs CORES system. This ARRL page has instructions.

What to bring:

You will need to the following:

• A Governement issued photo ID
• Your HamStudy assigned PIN
• Pen(s) or Pencil(s)

You may bring the following if you would like:

• Sliderule
• Log Tables
• A Simple Calculator you can clear all stored memory from

Location

The exam will be held in Building B, of the Polk County Fairgounds, 520 S. Pacific Highway W. Rickreall, OR 97371. This is the building behind the main building where Swaptoberfest will be held. Those who are attending for the exam only can bypass the swapmeet for the test.

Price

The exam itself is FREE, you do not need to enter Swaptoberfest to take the exam. If you choose to attend Swaptobefest you will have to pay the $10 admission. There is a $35 fee payable to the FCC for NEW licenses, or Renewals. That is payable directly to the FCC, after your application has been processed. Please do not try to pay us the $35 fee, we won't be able to do anything with it. We do also recommend those looking to renew do so directly through the FCCs ULS.
